"Rage Against Hate" Acrylic Spray Paint on damaged, reclaimed STOP sign.
This piece depicts lead singer of Rage Against The Machine' Zach De La Rocha, in front of the words STOP HATE. One of my all time favorite bands, with music still relevant to the current political climate.

"Blues Bros Sign" Acrylic spray paint on NO blocking of alleys sign.
The iconic blues brother and their Chicago police car are reconstructed in my very first piece of the series. This movie had one of my favorite car chase scenes in all of movies and was partly filmed in the town I grew up in, which made it even more bad ass.

"America?" Acrylic spray paint on reclaimed STOP sign.
This image was a recreation of a police brutality photo I was moved by on-line. In a free country seeing images like this is quite hard to stomach and leaves me with more questions then answers. I painted this knowing that people might get rubbed the wrong way... but was is art for but to rub people wrong and push to the limits.

"How's my driving, man!" Spray paint on faded NO PARKING ON GRASS sign.
Possible on of the funniest scenes from "Cheech and Chong Up In Smoke". I can remember my late father chuckling along to the movie while tell me for the hundredth time about how great their stand-up show was. So when I first saw this sign I felt the immediate urge to put these two fellas on a sign that read "no parking on grass", recalling on of my favorite scenes from the film.

"VW BUS" Spray paint on NO PARKING sign.
This sign features one of the coolest looking vehicles of all time, in my opinion. The iconic two toned front end with round headlight and giant VW emblem blazing across the front is was drove me to slap this piece together quickly. This van painted on this no parking sign has me also picturing a jam band on tour parked out front of a tiny run down venue, unloading their tie dyed gig bags full of gear.

"American Street Race" Spray paint on NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER sign.
This sign is actually a scene from the film "American Graffiti". I love the distinct look that each classic muscle car has which makes for a visually striking image. I also tried to juxtapose the fact that in this particular scene of the movie these cars are drag racing; couple that with the sign blantly reading no parking, which is kind of the exact opposite of what these men are doing in the film.
